Several Suffolk roads to close for work

SUFFOLK
 
Several road construction and maintenance projects will close a number of roads in Suffolk today:
 
-The city's Public Works Department will close Garfield Avenue between Harrison Street and Pitchkettle Rpad until 3 p.m. Traffic will be detoured to the surrounding streets.
 
-A contractor will close the right eastbound shoulder on Route 58 between Forest Glen Drive and Grove Avenue until 4 p.m.
 
-A paint crew with the Department of Public Works' Traffic Engineering Division will undertake a flagging operation on Hall Avenue between Saratoga Street and South Main Street until noon.
 
-The city's Line Maintenance Division will close Commerce Street between Hall Avenue and East Washington Street until 3 p.m. to repair a sewer line.
 
-The Public Works Department will set up a mobile left-lane closure on Route 58 eastbound between Holland Road Business District and the Nansemond River Bridge until noon.
 
-Public Works will enact a mobile operation in both directions on Carolina Road between Copeland Road and Deer Forest until 3 p.m.
 
-Public Works will have a lane closure on Lincoln Avenue between Harrison Street and Pitchkettle Lane until 3 p.m.
 
-A contractor will have a possible flagging operation with single lane closures along the 4300 to 5200 blocks of Godwin Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Tuesday to Friday through March.
 
-A contractor will have possible shoulder and lane closures along the 3800 block of Bridge Road for construction projects at the Bridge Road Medical Office Complex through March.
 
-A contractor will have possible periodic southbound shoulder and lane closures along the 4600 to 4900 blocks of Sleepy Hole Road until April.
 
-A contractor will be performing utility work resulting in possible lane closures on West Washington Street between Wellons Street and North Main Street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until the end of the month.
 
-Contractors will close the outer westbound lane of Route 58 from Kenyon Road to Manning Bridge Road until 4:30 p.m. to enact new water and sanitary sewer irmprovements.
 
-A contractor will begin repair work on the northbound lane of the Mills Godwin Bridge, resulting in possible flagging operations during the day and evening. Two lanes of traffic will be open at all times.
 
-Public Works will employ a flagging operation on Route 10 (Godwin Avenue) between Everett's Road and Kings Highway until 3 p.m.
