NORFOLK

A Wards Corner nightclub where five people were injured by gunfire was already slated to be torn down in a redevelopment.

Club Visions, 143 E. Little Creek Road, is on an 8.6-acre parcel at Granby Street that will be home to a retail project that is expected to include a Harris Teeter. The developer has said he hopes to begin demolition this summer.

Fights inside Club Visions continued outside, where shots were fired about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, police said. Two men were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital from the scene; two men and a woman later showed up at hospitals to be treated for gunshot wounds from the fight.

Injuries were not life-threatening, Chris Amos, a Police Department spokesman, said in an email. Police did not release victims' names. No arrest was made as of Monday.

Club Visions was previously a bar called Nutty Buddy's.

That's why I don't go to

That's why I don't go to clubs and they need to shut all of them down. When you mix alcohol, guns, and angry, short-tempered people, these kinds of things always happen. I bet most of these fights are about stupid stuff, and the innocent by-standers are the ones who get caught between this crazy mess with stray bullets. So stupid and senseless.
