The Tidewater Builders Association announced Tuesday that it is pushing back the dates of its spring Homearama showcase of new homes.

The event will be held from June 16 to July 1 at Culpepper Landing in Chesapeake. The show was originally scheduled for May.

Sam Cohen, the association's president this year, said the event is being delayed to give builders more time to complete their homes. So far, eight builders have signed up to construct homes for the show.

Culpepper Landing hosted the Fall 2009 Homearama and featured 12 homes, ranging in price from about $350,000 to more than $500,000.

With the spring show moving back to June, the organization will have only four months to prepare for the October Homearama show, which is planned for Norfolk's East Beach community.
