Students are back in class at Western Branch High School this morning after being out of class because of a natural gas leak.
Fire crews were notified about the smell of gas about 8:30 a.m, said Capt. Mike Thibeault, fire spokesman. Crews evacuated the school and worked with maintenance employees to stop the leak.
The source of the leak was determined to be on the roof of the building and an air handler pulled the smell of gas inside, according to Thibeault.
Students were back in class before 9:30 a.m.
Firefighters remained at the school to monitor the air.
The school is located at 1968 Bruin Place.
