GINGRICH GETS TRUMPED: It looks like the Don has finally found his man. Real estate mogul and reality TV star Donald Trump declared on Twitter that he will make an announcement this afternoon pertaining to the presidential race. UPDATE: Now the AP is reporting that Trump is backing Mitt Romney.  Trump had previously announced he would throw his hat (hairpiece?) into the race if he didn’t think a suitable republican nominee emerged from the field of contenders. Letterman also brought some of his long-time employees onstage to present the "Top Ten Things Staffers Would Like to Say to Dave on his 30th Anniversary in Late Night." Read more.

His sister Asia Moran says it "would be a drop in the bucket for Tracey," who is reportedly worth $18 million. Still, it's his money. Read more.

GROUNDHOG RETREAT! Finally, it’s Groundhog Day, and some furry rat-like creature in a small town in Pennsylvania stared at a huge crowd of people as some guy in a top hat read a scroll that said there would be six more weeks of winter. But let’s be serious, the only reason anybody even remembers it’s Groundhog Day is because the Bill Murray classic is on cable again. Submitted for your enjoyment, some clips from Groundhog Day.
