Va. Beach police seek man in 2 bank robberies

VIRGINIA BEACH

Police are looking for a man who robbed two banks on Tuesday.

The first robbery was reported about 2 p.m. at the Wells Fargo at 699 Independence Blvd., police wrote today in a news release. The man, who wore sunglasses, handed a teller a note demanding money and fled after receiving cash.

Several customers were in the bank during the robbery.

About 3:35 p.m., police received a report that a man wearing sunglasses robbed the BB&T at 6056 Indian River Road. In that case, the man handed a note to the teller and fled after receiving cash.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.

The man was described as 30 to 40, 5-feet-11 to 6-feet-3 and weighs 180 to 240 pounds. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt with a hood, dark pants, dark shoes and dark sunglasses.
