Verlander correctly picks Super Bowl; Patriots' Gronkowski dances away sting of losing

Justin Verlander can add Super Bowl prognosticator to his list of talents.
The reigning American League MVP and Cy Young Award winner nailed it when he said the New York Giants would beat the New England Patriots.
Wonder if the Detroit Tigers ace has any thoughts on how to reduce unemployment or improve health care? Or if he knows what happens to the sock that goes missing when you do laundry?
Verlander, a former Old Dominion Monarch, must've learned well during his time in Hampton Roads. He did a pretty good Edgar Cayce impersonation, tweeting "Giants 24-17" at 12:42 p.m. on Sunday.
According to the Scripps Howard Celebrity Super Bowl Poll, he did even better, correctly predicting the score at 21-17. Here are some other predictions:
PAT ROBERTSON, reverend, 2008 Super Sage Award winner: New York, 27-23. I just think Eli Manning will be more comfortable in Indianapolis.
DALE EARNHARDT JR., NASCAR driver: New England. The Redskins whooped the Giants twice so if they won it would make me feel good as a Redskins fan, but I think the Patriots will win, barely, by 3 or 4 points.
STEVE HARVEY, actor/radio host: New York, 24-19. This score will ensure all of America of an exciting game. I firmly believe that the Giants are fully capable of scoring 24 points along with their defense holding New England to just 19 points.
BARRY WILLIAMS, Greg Brady on "The Brady Bunch": New England, 31-17. As the seventh and youngest Brady, Tom is a classic and a winner.
MAYA ANGELOU, poet: New York, 20-7. The Patriots are terrible losers, which mean the Giants, who are great winners, have to work harder than usual -- and they will.

Gronk drowns his sorrows in the dance. Patriots receiver Rob Gronkowski was hampered by an injured ankle in the Super Bowl (with just two catches for 26 yards), but it didn't seem to hinder his moves in a postgame party. Check him out in the video below.
