Blue catfish are invasive to the Chesapeake. By eating them, Virginians can help save the bay.

Blue catfish are wreaking havoc on native species in the Chesapeake Bay. To reduce the damage, environmentalists want to encourage more restaurants to add the whiskered predator to their menus.

Norfolk City Council members passed a resolution threatening funding consequences if the School Board does not create a plan to close at least 10 schools by August.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin had until 11:50 p.m. Monday to sign, amend or veto legislation passed by the General Assembly. He ultimately signed nearly 600 bills, amended 159 and vetoed 158.

Norfolk's proposed $1.6 billion operating budget includes funding for staff raises, housing redevelopment, free 1-hour downtown parking and more. Tax rates would remain unchanged, but the garbage collection fee would increase $5 a month to offset recycling program cost increases.
