Virginia Beach approves new speed cameras in school zones

The Virginia Beach City Council voted Tuesday to approve operation of speed cameras in school zones. It will take about four months to select the sites and install the equipment. A 30-day warning period will occur before citations are issued.

Chesapeake Mayor Rick West touted municipal accomplishments both big and small during his State of the City address Wednesday. He noted the city's private capital investments in 2024 totaled $1 billion.
