AMC renews "Turn," continues filming in Virginia

Jamie Bell plays Abraham Woodhull in "Turn" (Antony Platt | AMC)

AMC has ordered 10 new episodes of the Revolutionary War series "Turn." The cable network filmed much of the first season in Virginia - mostly in and around Richmond - and it will continue to do so for the second season. The locations include a warehouse near Richmond International Raceway and a 1770s town AMC recreated just outside Powhatan Correctional Center in State Farm, Va., which is 30 miles North of Richmond. The show also filmed in Scotchtown in Hanover County, Va., and Tuckahoe, the childhood home of Thomas Jefferson in Goochland County, Va.

In February, WWBT in Richmond reported on the first season filming.
