Waggin' Tails

Wondering what you can do with your dog in Hampton Roads? Get the answers here. I'll be discussing dog care, nutrition, training, play, and games to play with your dog.

Pet owners should be well informed when it comes to caring for their pet. Recalls on food ingredients, brand name foods, and toys make it necessary for pet parents to have information. But there is so much information it would make your head spin. Angie has a knack for getting and sorting this information. Having run two pet related businesses and having rescued two dogs so far, she has years of experience in pet care and training. Thanksgiving is next week. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving with their furry friends. We have a few events this weekend too so get out ther and support our local rescues and shelters.

Donuts! Get your donuts tomorrow morning at the Peninsula SPCA! They’re going to have nice fresh Krispy Kreme donuts for sale to raise funds for the shelter pets. They’ll be onsale from 9 to 12 or until they run out. You can also get them at the ACE Hardware on Warwick Boulevard across from Todd Stadium.

Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society has some hungry kitties. They need food! Please donate some Purina Kitten Chow. If you can’t get by the shelter to drop off a bag, you can always order it from the Amazon wish list and it will get delivered to the shelter. The link is http://a.co/hiXTWxP. The shelter also needs raw turkey and chicken. They cook the meat and use it as treats for the dogs at the shelter. I know turkeys are on sale right now. They’ll take whole birds or packages of cut up pieces. The shelter is located at 6620 Jackson Lane in Gloucester.

The coliseum Central Holiday Parade will be on Saturday morning. Collie and Sheltie Rescue of Southeast Virginia will be marching in the parade. So look for all the collies and shelties in their finest Christmas attire!
