Opened in July 1998, the Sportsplex was the first facility in the country to be designed and constructed primarily for professional soccer. Today, the facility is operated and maintained by the Parks Division and hosts a variety of other field sporting events in addition to soccer. The three level stadium features home team, visiting team, officials dressing rooms with lockers and showers, multiple restrooms, concessions areas, state-of-the-art field lighting, scoreboard system, miscellaneous support, administrative office spaces, parking for over 2,000 vehicles and an irrigated Bermuda turfgrass playing field.
The stadium is a 3-level steel and concrete structure. The Service Level contains ticketing functions, administration area, team and officials' dressing rooms and miscellaneous support spaces. The Mezzanine Level consists of a broad spectator walkway leading to the lower seating deck, souvenier store, plus concessions and restroom areas. The Club Level leads to the upper seating deck as well as six (6) luxury suites.
The facility has 6,000 seats overall, located on two levels. The lower deck contains 3,600 seats, while the upper deck contains 2,400. The majority of the seats have armchairs with seat backs. All are conveniently located to restrooms and concessions. Unique to the Sportsplex is the availability of the berm seating, which brings the stadium capacity up to 10,000.
