Parent-Child Interactive Learning Playgroups

Our playgroups feature open learning centers that include housekeeping, train tables, dressup closets, book and puzzle corners, toy cars, educational activities, and arts and crafts. Circle time activities include children’s songs, music with instruments, finger plays, stories, field trips and outside playtime on age-appropriate playground equipment.

Family Focus also provides on-site professional parent educators, parent education classes and special activities for families.

• For children, birth to 5 years old
• Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
• First Baptist Church Newport News

• Unlimited playgroups and activities is $25 a month per family.

Al’s Pals at Family Focus

All preschool-aged children (ages 3-4) are invited to join the Al’s Pals Program at the Stoneybrook location in Newport News.

“Al’s Pals: Kids Making Healthy Choices” program is a comprehensive approach in working with children 3 to 4 years of age. The goal of this program is to offer effective strategies to teach young children how to get along with others, solve problems, use self control, manage anger and make healthy choices.

The program operates September 12, 2011 through June 13, 2012 Mondays and Wednesdays — 9:30 am to Noon.

Cost: $60/month

Maximum class size 15. A parent or guardian must remain on the premises during class sessions.

Starting September 12th, tje “Al’s Pals: Kids Making Healthy Choices” program is a comprehensive approach in working with children 3 and 4 years of age. The goal of this program is to offer effective strategies to teach young children how to get along with others, solve problems, use self control, and make healthy choices. The Al's Pals program focus on all areas of growth in the preschool age child.

All preschool-aged children (ages 3-4) are invited to join the Al’s Pals Program at the Stoneybrook location in Newport News.

Mondays and Wednesdays • 9:30 a.m. to Noon

Cost: $60.00 per month

Join Mrs. Ashley each week for a special story time created just for children ages 3 and under. Enjoy songs, stories, and a simple craft designed for little hands. Toddler Time is a fantastic opportunity for parent and child to interact and participate together. Parent must be present. Field trips must be planned at least a week in advance.
