The local writer's studio Muse has several 3 to 4 month workshops in a wide range of subjects and they get together at the end of each "semester" and read excerpts from their work. Some are working on novels, some short stories, and others just writing to get out their wild ideas. It's always weird, funny and endearing so come out hear some local talent.

NORFOLK There's no room for Jell-O downtown, at least not for female Jell-O wrestling. Two weeks after Mayor Paul Fraim denounced a Waterside night club for promoting Jell-O wrestling, the City Council learned that The NorVa, a downtown concert venue, planned to host a similar event Sunday.
This Thursday, if you're driving to the Outer Banks or other destinations in North Carolina for a holiday getaway, double check that your passengers are belted, young children are properly restrained in approved car seats, your vehicle is in safe working order, and all your licenses and inspection stickers are up to date. And make sure you're not boozing behind the wheel.
