Search-and-rescue dog found safe in Williamsburg

UPDATE: Spice was found about 9:30 a.m. today at the Williamsburg water treatment facility, hooked around a tree. After being found, she was eating and drinking and seemed fine, but had some abrasions on her side. She was being taken to a veterinarian.
A 4-year-old search-and-rescue dog has gone missing in a wooded area of Williamsburg.

More than 400 chinchillas removed from fur farm

Of more than 400 chinchillas removed from a breeding and fur farm in California, two have made their way to PETA's Norfolk headquarters. All of the chinchillas, including the two in Norfolk, will be adopted out in pairs and groups to people who will be taught proper care of the animals. Chesapeake seniors get some furry visitors

PETA offers to end Charles the Monarch's royal line

NORFOLK PETA wants to clip Charles the Monarch's crown jewels. Mere days after the famous labradoodle welcomed into the world his litter of pride puppies, officials with the animal rights organization have reached out to his owner, Daniel Painter, in an effort to end the royal line. In a letter to Painter, the organization offered to spay and neuter all of the animals for free.
