Lanier: Sight of former friend brings back memories she'd rather forget

I saw her the other day. It was strange, seeing her after so many years. She looked different, so changed, I was sure I was wrong. But something in her eyes or her mannerisms assured me I wasn't mistaken.

Book review: True teen story inspires you to set a record

“All of the Above” is an interesting book based on a true story about a group of four seventh-grade, inner-city kids who work together on a math project.

The project is to build the world’s largest tetrahedron to get in the “Guinness Book of World Records.” The story shows life through the perspective of each child.

And I have the sticker to prove it.   I woke up this morning, did my hair (you never know when a photo opportunity may occur) and got dressed in one of my favorite outfits. I headed out the door to the polls, which happened to be in the middle of nowhere.
