NORFOLK Two people were killed and two others were injured in a single-vehicle crash early this morning, police said.
NORFOLK The Virginia Department of Transportation scrapped plans to continue working at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel early Sunday because of heavy traffic, a spokeswoman said.
Two tidbits for downtown Norfolk restaurant junkies to chew on: Machismo Burrito Bar, on West York Street in Freemason, plans to move by the end of the month to the corner of Boush Street and College Place. And 219, closed since at least March, has been bought by a restaurateur who already has four eateries in the vicinity.

Firefighters have extinguished a fire at the Faith In Action Church at 4603 Cape Henry Ave. Units responded to the blaze at approximately 10:30 a.m., said Capt. Mike Marsala, a spokesman for the fire department.

NORFOLK Thomas Harris has lived in Lamberts Point for 31 years, long enough to remember when a trucking company operated from 26th Street behind his house and when a mason there turned one building into a junkyard. Crime and drugs were a problem, with vagrants hanging out on the block, Harris said. "You name it, it was there," he said.
NORFOLK The waterfront was crowned the main attraction at Friday's much anticipated re opening of Town Point Park with the city's 33rd Harborfest celebration. As part of the downtown park's $11.5 million face-lift, the grounds were terraced and the stage relocated so the view of the Elizabeth River became the focal point. And people noticed.
