By Pete Kerzel Correspondent COLLEGE PARK, MD Shaken and stunned by the shooting death of her 18-year-old brother Wednesday night, Jasmine Parker could have taken the night off. No one would have blamed the Lady Monarchs guard, not after sustaining such an incomprehensible loss.

By Mark Berman Two of the top three returning scorers in the ACC play in the same state. If you're thinking North Carolina, you're wrong. Tyler Hansbrough, Jeff Teague, Ty Lawson and Gerald Henderson have moved on to the NBA. If you're thinking Florida, guess again. Toney Douglas is in the NBA and Jack McClinton's gone, too. NORFOLK Old Dominion forward Jessica Canady likely will be less than 100 percent for tonight's season opener against No. 2 Stanford. At least she's available. Tiffany Green is going international. The former Old Dominion basketball standout from Chesapeake headed to Israel on Thursday morning to embark on a pro career that she hopes will lead her to the WNBA next season.
The Old Dominion women's basketball team has made returning to the NCAA tournament a singular goal for the 2009-10 season. On Thursday, the school released a schedule that spells out just how difficult that task might be.
