CHRISTIANSBURG Suspended Virginia Tech place-kicker Cody Journell was found guilty Monday of a lesser charge of trespassing, potentially paving the way for his to return to the football team.

BLACKSBURG Virginia Tech kicker Cody Journell will plead to a misdemeanor trespassing charge in relation to an incident from December, his lawyer Jimmy Turk said Friday night, potentially opening up the possibility for him to return to the Hokies.

BLACKSBURG Since his standout sophomore season, former Hokies cornerback Jayron Hosley has watched his NFL draft stock slide as teams raised questions about his size and his performance last year. Now he has a new concern. Fox Sports reported Wednesday that he tested positive for marijuana during the NFL scouting combine in February.

BLACKSBURG Frank Beamer felt a good crowd coming for Virginia Tech's spring game. He kept telling the mass of recruits the Hokies had on hand to prepare for a great atmosphere in Lane Stadium. "The weather didn't go with us," Beamer said, shortly after it was canceled because of rain and lightning. It didn't seem to affect anything on the recruiting front.
