A 55-year-old city resident driving a minivan died this morning after crossing into the opposite lane and running head-on into a school bus on U.S. 58.
The driver's name is Frederick Mitchell Adkins. The school bus driver was not injured and there were no students on the bus at the time of the crash, which happened at 9 a.m. at Godwin Boulevard.

The shutoff affected customers between North Main and Saratoga streets, a city news release said. The water main break was located in the 100 block of Washington St. Service was restored by 3:30 p.m.
