Man charged in shooting at homeless camp in Virginia

WOODBRIDGE Authorities say they have arrested a man who shot another man in the face during an argument inside a homeless camp. The Washington Post reports that 43-year-old Daniel Clay was arrested Friday on charges including aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Today is deadline for requests for absentee ballots by mail

RICHMOND The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail for the Nov. 3 General Assembly election is 5 p.m. today. Applications for an absentee ballot can be hand-delivered, faxed or emailed to a local registrar. Deputy shoots man at scene of Virginia house fire

DUNGANNON Virginia State Police are investigating the shooting of a man by a sheriff's deputy outside a house fire in Scott County. State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller says Scott County sheriff's deputies responded along with volunteer firefighters to the home early Saturday in Dungannon after a report that a man was inside the house with a gun.
