Candidate questionnaire

Question 1: What makes you the best candidate for City Council?

I am the best candidate in the race because my service record to the community, addressing the most critical problems of Virginia Beach, far surpasses that of the incumbent or the challenger. In addition to my raw leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide spectrum of people, and my experience in business as a radio broadcast station operator and record company owner, I feel I have the skills, vision, intellect and passion necessary to lead Virginia Beach into a new decade of greatness.

Question 2: Why do you support or oppose bringing the light rail line to Virginia Beach?

I support doing the important research necessary to determine the real need and the likelihood of profitability.

Question 3: If the city's revenue goes flat or is less than in previous years, what would be the first item to cut from the budget?

Money spent on studies and consultants, raises and unnecessary expenditures.

Question 4: How much of a public financial investment should be made in redevelopment (e.g. Dome site development, 19th St. corridor, etc.)?

There should have been a referendum on whether any public money should be spent on the Dome site.

Question 5: What should be the top 3 priorities for growth and development in Virginia Beach?

Safety, workforce development and transportation.
