Virginia Beach teen charged with making Internet school threat

VIRGINIA BEACH

Police arrested a 13-year-old student at Kempsville Middle School Thursday for making threats on the Internet.

Police said that, during an instant-messaging conversation Thursday night,  the student threatened to bring a gun and knife to school.  The student he was messaging reported the threat, and school officials called police.

The 13-year-old male student was arrested Thursday night at his home. He is charged with one count of electronically communicating a threat to commit serious bodily harm on school property. He faces disciplinary action from the school.

The case remains under investigation.
