An autopsy did not reveal the cause of death of a Virginia Beach woman whose body was found Monday in the townhouse where she lived.
A spokeswoman for the medical examiner’s office in Norfolk said today that a toxicology report is pending in the investigation of Brenda L. Messina’s death. The report could take two months.
Messina, 32, was found about 2 p.m. Monday in the home, in the 3500 block of Sir Wilfred Place, by police responding to a report about suspicious activity at the house.
The door to the home and doors to a white sport-utility-vehicle in the driveway had been open for hours when officers arrived, police spokeswoman Margie Long said.
Messina’s death has been classified as suspicious.
