VIRGINIA BEACH

Police are asking for the public’s help locating a man with Alzheimer’s who hasn’t been seen since 9 p.m. last night.

Hiram Foster, 84, of the 3400 block of Daisy Crescent, was last seen driving a 2003 gold Chrysler Concord, police wrote in a news release. The Virginia license plate with a handicapped symbol has the number 287481.

Foster was wearing tan pants, a blue Navy Retired cap and glasses with large frames, police wrote. He carries a wooden cane.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call (757) 385-5000.

Lisah....

As a caretaker for a parent suffering from this, they really think they can drive because they seem to remember driving just the other day, even though they have not had a license or driven in 5 years. We have to hide the keys, keep doors locked and sometimes trick them by leaving out a key that does not work. Sometimes someone forgets to lock a door or does not hide the keys well enough and the parent finds them and cannot remember that they no longer drive.

You must not be too

You must not be too sympathetic if your are asking a question like that. You do not know their situation or the events that led up to this. How about we just pray for the family and hope for the best.

As sympathetic as I am to

As sympathetic as I am to the families in these situations, why was he allowed to drive?
