Two retired military leaders will make four stops across Virginia Monday in support of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

Rear Adm. Jamie Barnett and Command Sgt. Maj. Michele Jones, both retired, will discuss challenges facing Virginia veterans, according to a news release from the campaign. At each stop, they’ll be joined by Virginia veterans.

Jones was the first woman to serve as the command sergeant major of the U.S. Army Reserve and Barnett served in the Military Sealift Command Office during Operation Desert Storm. Barnet, most recently, served as deputy commander of the U.S. Navy Expeditionary Combat Command.

The Newport News forum will begin at 9 a.m. and be held at the “Campaign for Change Office” at 96 Main Street. They will also hold forums Monday in Richmond, Stafford and Arlington.
