BARCO, N.C.
Lifelong duck hunter Travis Morris continues telling the stories of waterfowling on the Currituck Sound in his third book, "Currituck: Ducks, Politics and Outlaw Gunners."
As with the first two books, this one is an easy read of short stories and includes dozens of photographs of the people involved.
"There are so many good, untold stories in Currituck that relate to ducks," Morris wrote in his latest book. "I felt like more of them should be told for generations to come because Currituck will never be like it used to be."
Morris began hunting when ducks and geese still wintered by the hundreds of thousands on the Currituck Sound, which was known as one of the best places in the country to shoot waterfowl. He served as a guide to many wealthy businessmen from northeastern states.
Morris was scheduled to be signing his book at the Currituck Wildlife Festival today at Currituck County High School.
