Posted to: News Virginia

WILLIAMSBURG

The College of William & Mary has alerted students to an anonymous threat of violence received by administrators.

The school sent out an email to students Friday. According to the email, from Emergency Management Team chair Anna Martin, the threat said that a violent incident would occur Sunday near the Sadler Center on campus.

The email did not give additional details, but did say the school is working with various law enforcement agencies and that the police and security presence at Sadler Center, a multi-purpose campus building, will be beefed up.

In addition, the center's hours will be shortened and events moved to other locations.

A William & Mary spokesman did not know of any specific event that had been targeted.

Updates will be posted on the school's Web site at www.wm.edu.
