Birdneck Road in Virginia Beach closed for emergency gas line repair

VIRGINIA BEACH

Birdneck Road in Virginia Beach has been closed to traffic to perform an emergency gas line repair.

Virgfinia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Luefras Robinson said a gas line break occured around noon Tuesday asa contractor was placing concrete storm drain pipes.

For access to Seatack and Birdneck elementary schools, motorists should use General Booth Boulevard.

Robinson said the road will reopen to traffic when the repair is completed. No time frame has been provided.
