Retired Lt. Gen. Claudia Kennedy and retired Sgt. Maj. John Estrada will be in Virginia Beach on Sunday to campaign for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, according to a campaign news release.
The two will hold a series of national security and Veterans for Obama events in several Virginia communities this weekend, the news release said. They will spend Saturday stumping in western Virginia.
On Sunday, they will be in Virginia Beach at 2:15 p.m. for a Veterans for Obama event at the Disabled American Vets Hall, 4896 Kempsville Green Pkwy.
Kennedy was the first woman to reach the rank of three-star lieutenant general in the U.S. Army and she retired in 2000 after 31 years of service, the news release said. During her career, she was awarded the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. She is a member of the Military Intelligence Hall of Fame.
Estrada was the 15th sergeant major of the U.S. Marine Corps and the first African American to hold the rank, the campaign news release said. He retired in 2007 after 34 years of service.

So Stating Facts
about McCain's adultery makes 1 a kool aid drinking nimcompoop to you? Counting my Dad, uncles, siblings & myself, there are 7 combat veterans in my family. We're all Obama supporters. His ideas to benefit veterans & active duty personnel are simply much better than McCain's. So is his tax plan & everything else he plans to try to do. McCain actually was against an improved GI Bill, similar to the 1 you & I had, for today's troops. No one who graduates with honors, from the finest university in our nation, is an empty suit.
DESERT STORM VET
I voted absentee my entire life, I don't go to any campaign events and never will. I prefer watching them on my computer where I can see more than just soundbites. I've seen General Claudia Kennedy the last time she was in Hampton Roads via C-Span, when she addressed female soldiers issues for one, who have been serving our nation superior to any country in the world.
The Obama campaign has done a lot of outreach to Veterans throughout the entire nation, not taking a single vote for granted. Senator McCain has been taking my vote for granted and insulted me with his VP pick. General Claudia Kennedy does not brag about her service, nor would she ever say that she knows everything about Russia because she can see it from her window.
twomiler2
Sounds like you done drunk some of that special kool aid and it's worked it's magic for you! hehehe Must like fist bumpin also. I stand by my comments, and, by the way, a Nam vet also in case anyone wants to go down that road with the name calling/bashing.
How Ironic
that some who profess in believing in old fashioned honesty & the Bible, are so intent on supporting an adulterer & liar,(at least to his 1st wife, anyone would have to admit).
The Real McCain
Go to youtube and type in "The Real McCain" if you want to learn about John McCain.

one guy was a pow, the other shot staples into telephone polls for liberal activist groups. yeah, im sure the turnout will be huge!
Vets for Obama
Well, CROWD, Make it 5, This NAM vet and my 2 sons (USCG) are voting for OBAMA!
HEY
I have been awarded an Army Commendation Medal also! AND I support John McCain and Sarah Palin!!! bHo is just not credible in my book and I don't like income redistribution or socialism. Just believe in the Bible and good old-fashioned honesty, hard work and helping looking out for the neighbors. I've never been one to follow empty suits and sure don't like kool aid and that fist bumpin. HAGD Hampton Roads!!
Media Liberal Bias
Notice how the Virginian Pilot posts about people campaigning for Obama (it's not even Obama himself) but you hardly even hear about John McCain and Sarah Palin themselves will be here Tuesday at the Virginia Beach Convention Center? I hope Fox News buys the Pilot, at least then you would see fair and unbiased coverage.
Veterans for Obama
Republicans in every election try to wrap themselves in the flag, while they are destroying the country. It is nice to see some veterans have the good sense to know who will be best for America.
