Police are looking for a man they say abducted a woman from her home at gunpoint, tied her to a tree, sexually assaulted her and stabbed her.

According to police the woman had just come home to her apartment in the 100 block of Forest Oak Lane at about 2 a.m. Friday when a man with a gun forced her back into her car and drove her to a wooded area. There he sexually assaulted her, tied her to a tree and stabbed her, police said.

After the man left in her car the victim was able to escape and flag down a driver in the 800 block of Old Dill Road, police said. She was treated and released from a local hospital.

The assailant is described as black, 20-30 years old, about 5 feet 5 inches tall with short hair and a receding hairline. The vehicle stolen by the man is a black, four-door 2008 Suzuki Forenza with Virginia plates.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call The Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
