A man on a bicycle was killed Thursday after he was hit by a vehicle, Chesapeake police said.
The crash happened at 1:22 p.m. in the 900 block of George Washington Highway, said Officer Dorienne Boykin, a police department spokeswoman.
She identified the man killed as Buddy Dean Bohlander, 58, of the 1300 block of Iowa Street in Chesapeake.
Bohlander was riding a bicycle northbound on George Washington Highway when he was hit by a northbound Jeep Cherokee driven by Florance Moore, 29, of Portsmouth, Boykin said.
Bohlander was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he died, she said.
Charges are pending against Moore, Boykin said, but the crash remains under investigation.
