NORFOLK

The city of Norfolk will halt some road construction projects on Black Friday and Thanksgiving weekend to allow better flow of what will be busy downtown traffic.

Projects on these streets will stop on Friday, a city press release said:

- St. Paul’s Boulevard.

- Brambleton Avenue between Duke Street and Interstate 264.

- Virginia Beach Boulevard between Llewellyn and Monticello avenues.

The press release said three closures will remain in effect: One lane of Brambleton from Colley Avenue to Duke Street, the closure of Charlotte Street, and the southbound lane closure of Brambleton from Colley to Yarmouth Street.

People coming downtown can get more information from a city report available at www.norfolk.gov/publicworks/tipreport.asp.

halt?

Halt construction? I wish they'd actually finish some.

Well whooopdie dooo!!!

Must be slow day in newsroom. Construction workers don't work on holiday's anyway, so how is this "news"?

Of course they will

Of course they'll stop the roadwork for shopping, but god help us all when we have to get out of this craphole called Norfolk on a normal workday. Who's idea was this to clog up almost every artery out of here every other day of the week?!?!?

They've paused the road work

They've paused the road work on Virginia beach blvd. near military circle for about two months, right after they tore up the street.
