New York Mets star is doing things Wright

Posted to: News Norfolk

New York Mets star David Wright, right, shakes hands with Gavin Bramer, 6, a patient at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, as Gavin's father, Sean, watches during Wright's visit to CHKD on Tuesday. Wright, who recently bought a condo in downtown Norfolk, gave $25,000 to CHKD. Later that night, Wright presented a $25,000 check to the Norfolk police's athletic league. The donations came from the David Wright Foundation, established to help children's causes. Police Chief Bruce Marquis said the league will use its cash for youth baseball. Has always been a good kid from a good family

The entire Wright family displays this sense of giving back. Always have. I am glad David is in a position to continue giving back. He is an example for all, a true sports' role model. Hopefully, our younger generation will see David as the type of athlete and/or person they want to be when they grow up.

Good things

Nice to read about the great things professional athletes are doing instead of the criminal things. We need more of this!

Thank You David

Thank you for all that you do in the community. You haven't forgotten where you came from. We don't worry about you turning into another Michael Vick.
