Naval Medical Center, clinics add hours for flu shots

Portsmouth Naval Medical Center and its clinics have added afternoon and weekend hours for flu shots.

The vaccine will be offered on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oceana clinic, a Navy news release says. Patients who walk in from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays also can receive the shots. Hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays are 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Adm. Joel T. Boone Clinic at Little Creek will offer the shots from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, beginning on Dec. 9.

The Naval hospital will hold a Saturday flu vaccine clinic on Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the release says.

Vaccines also are offered to patients who walk into the following clinics during the following hours:

- Naval hospital, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday

- Boone Clinic, 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday

- Sewells Point Clinic, Norfolk Naval Station, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday

- Norfolk Naval Shipyard, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday

The vaccine will be available in mist form and by injection to all TRICARE-eligible beneficiaries, the release says.
