CHESAPEAKE
A Portsmouth man turned himself in to Chesapeake police after seeing a surveillance photo released Friday, a Chesapeake police news release said.
Brandon Wyatt Wysong, of the 4000 block of King St., was charged with burglary and use of a stolen credit card and was being held in Chesapeake City Jail.
On Friday, Chesapeake police said they were looking for a man who broke into the home of an 83-year-old man, stole a credit card and was believed to have used it later at three stores.
The burglary happened sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 in the 2300 block of Bugle Drive East, police wrote in a news release.
When the victim discovered the burglary he called his credit card company to cancel the card, police wrote. The company alerted him that two purchases had been made the night of the theft.
The first purchase was made at 9:36 p.m. at the Target store on the Ring Road at Chesapeake Square, according to police. A video camera recorded a man using the stolen card.
About 10 minutes later, a second purchase was made at Toys R Us on Portsmouth Boulevard, according to police. At 1:26 a.m. on Nov. 15, the card was used at Wal-Mart on College Drive in Suffolk.
Police sent out surveillance photos as the man left the Target store.
