Rabies confirmed in fox that attacked person, dogs in Corolla

A fox that attacked a person and his dogs in Corolla had a confirmed case of rabies, according to a news release from the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office.

The fox attacked on Dec. 27, the news release said. There were no other details about the attack available.

Currituck County advised Corolla residents to use caution and not attempt to approach any wild animal. Suspicious wild animal behavior should be reported to the county’s animal control department, by calling (252) 232-2216.
