Elizabeth City armed robbery suspect is captured

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C.

An Elizabeth City man wanted in two armed robberies was captured early Thursday.

Victor Eugene White Jr., 24, was arrested at about 2 a.m. at the Queen Elizabeth Motel south of Elizabeth City without incident after police received a Crime Line tip, said Detective Jerry Boyce of the Elizabeth City Police Department. White is being held under a $124,000 bond.

On Sunday, at the corner of Grice and Dyer streets at 1:42 a.m., a woman was robbed at gunpoint as she opened her car door. On Nov. 25, an armed man entered 817 Walker Ave. at 7:21 p.m. and demanded the keys to the car before driving away in the victim’s car. The car was later recovered. Both victims identified White.

Charges against White include robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of vehicle and possession of a firearm by a felon.
