ELIZABETH CITY, N.C.

An Elizabeth City man wanted in two armed robberies was captured early Thursday.

Victor Eugene White Jr., 24, was arrested at about 2 a.m. at the Queen Elizabeth Motel south of Elizabeth City without incident after police received a Crime Line tip, said Detective Jerry Boyce of the Elizabeth City Police Department. White is being held under a $124,000 bond.

On Sunday, at the corner of Grice and Dyer streets at 1:42 a.m., a woman was robbed at gunpoint as she opened her car door. On Nov. 25, an armed man entered 817 Walker Ave. at 7:21 p.m. and demanded the keys to the car before driving away in the victim’s car. The car was later recovered. Both victims identified White.

Charges against White include robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of vehicle and possession of a firearm by a felon.
