Municipal offices and courts

Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Suffolk City offices and courts are closed.

Financial institutions

Most banks and credit unions are closed. Contact specific institutions.

Garbage collection

Chesapeake and Portsmouth Trash normally collected today will be collected Wednesday.

Suffolk Trash normally collected today will be collected Tuesday, with the schedule being adjusted by one day throughout the week.

Hampton Roads Transit

HRT will operate on a regular schedule, with no service on routes 76, 918, 919, 922 and 963. Call (757) 222-6100.

Postal service

Post offices are closed, with no regular mail delivery. Express Mail deliveries will be made.

Public libraries

Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Suffolk Libraries are closed.

Norfolk Libraries are closed.

Public schools

Isle of Wight County Schools are closed. (Schools are open in South Hampton Roads.)

Recreation centers

Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Suffolk Centers are closed.

State offices

DMV All Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers are closed. Service for many common transactions is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at www.dmvnow.com and (888) 337-4782.

ABC Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control stores are open.

Virginia Beach schools are open because it's a Snow makup day!

Not a snow make-up day

No, today is not a snow make-up day for Virginia Beach schools. President's day was not on the school calendar this year as a holiday. We do not get President's day off next year either.

Holiday closings

You got all of these offices closed on holidays except one. This one causes more problems than anything. The liquor store. Why is the liquor store open it is all about money. Doesn't matter how much liquor kills people as long as the almighty dollar is collected.
