What happened? Did Virginia Beach feel it was falling too far behind Norfolk in Fraud, Waste and Abuse?

I am very surprised by City Councilwoman Rosemary Wilson's decision to use taxpayer's monies in today's economic times to assist businesses for cosemetic purposes. That is why we have City Codes and fines when businesses willfully undermine the law by not maintaining their properties. Is Rosemary buying votes?

What are they thinking. How about giving us tax payer our money back from our taxes,lets start there. So we can pay our bills. What a joke. Lets vote the fools out of office next time around. They never think of us tax payers.

if Rosemary owns the small shopping strip (the ugly one) in the picture? Isn't she is a real estate agent?

with all the so called budget woes, i cannot believe this is on the table; a plaza owner sits back and collects; we all have spend our own to put in our properties for up keep or we get sited. why should they get an entitlement.

Some of these malls should just be torn down. Look at the eyesore north east corner of Great Neck and V B Blvd. These businesses and real estate owners have been collecting money all these years and have failed to keep their property up even after receiving complaints (which I have made in person). They simply won't invest in their own property. Why doesn't the city just site them for code violations and fine them instead of giving them money that they probably won't repair with anyway. Do we really need a strip mall every 20 feet anyway?

I think the city should use the $150,000 to fill some of the pot holes in the city.

Since the Beach is giving money away to fix up strip malls, I could use some money to paint my house !!
