People who fear the gun

Those people who have an irrational fear of an object like a gun without being afraid of the person carrying the gun need professional help. There has to be a definition in the psychological dictionary for such an irrational fear. Those folks must undoubtly fear their own impulse control and should not own a gun. They should be prohibited period. Just like criminals who have no impulse control and will choose not to obey any law that doesn't benifit their need for instant gratification. Gunowners choose to be self reliant, responsible and do not fear their impulse control and aren't afraid of an object that they can excercise control over at will. You anti-gun crowd that expect the government forces to protect you should get some professional help from the government for your irrational fears. If you really want a telling poll ask how many law-abiding gunowners would protect you and your family if you were being assaulted by a criminal element knowing in doing so they would be putting their own liberty, freedom and life at stake. Get a life or get over it.

the real deal

point #1: Virginia does not have bars, we have restaurants. Becouse of this I can not go into a Chipotle with my pistol becouse they serve beer.
point #2: If a CHP holder does decide to break the law and consume alcohol, they may be arrested on the spot. Now I do understand the fact of "well how do you know if he is "strapped"", you don't. That is why it's the honor system. It's the same way now, how do you know I am not "strapped" when I sit next to you at RL?
Point #3: People who get their CHP are for the most part law abiding citizens. I do not carry my gun into restaurants concealled becouse it is against the law. further more, I will not consume alcohol when I am "packing heat".
Point #4: Criminals do NOT follow laws. "Gun Free Zones" are field days for some wacked out lunatic who is hell bent on taking as many people with him to the after life.
Food for thought: Take a walk with me for a second; you go to your favorite restaurant with your family. You order the steak and the wife orders fish. You talk about your day and how stressed you are that Sandy got the promotion and you didn't. Unknowningly, there's a guy who just walked in with an itchy trigger finger and a wi

sheep do not like the sheep dog

as has been said, the sheep do not like the sheep dog because the presence of the sheep dog reminds the sheep that wolves exist!

So ccguer would you also

So ccguer would you also agree that we shouldn't use the internet , radio, tv and other modern means of communication because it wasn't around at the time the Constitution and Bill of Rights were signed?

Of course not. You wouldn't let anything stand in the way of your 1st Amendment rights but you don't mind restricting my 2nd Amendment rights.

These same arguments were made when we passed concealed carry. The anti's were running around talking about shoot outs in the streets over minor fender benders. It never happened.

I can now opencarry in an establishment that serves alcohol and so far there hasn't been a problem.

And just because you pass a law against it doesn't mean criminals won't carry , after all they don't follow the law in the first place.

And if every ones so concerned about it how come they don't say anything about people going to restaraunts any driving home after drinking?

The truth comes out!

Well, "ccguer" finally admits the fear that lies at the heart of most opposition to lawful ownership of handguns!
"I will never own a handgun since I may use it on stupid drivers on cell phones and governors who open rest stops for travelers and ignore the issue for schools." [Submitted by ccguer on Wed, 03/17/2010 at 7:05 pm.]
Isn't it amazing how little self-control these children have? Lord knows, I see plenty of stupid drivers, and almost as many stupid politicians, but so far I haven't blown even ONE of them away. That's because I'm a grown-up, and can control my impulses.
Too bad about you, "ccguer". If you ever DO get hold of a weapon, try to remember that the behavior you propose is illegal, and might even get you shot by some 'gun nut' -- or by the police!

When The Bill of Rights Were Written..

When the Bill of Rights were written, yes, muzzle loaders were the norm.

When the Bill of Rights were written, we had hand set moveable type.

When the Bill of Rights were written, we had NO electric media, including no Internet.

IF YOU want supporters of the Second Amendment to go back to muzzle loading firearms, I am willing to agree, as long as newspapers go back to hand set type, and that electronic media are NOT covered by Freedom Of Speech.

Get real. Technology moves on.

You intolerant hopolophobes.

It's not about the gun, it's about control. Fear the government that fears it's citizens. A required step toward tyranny is removal of the means to resist.

We protect each other

The state and local police cannot protect us,they are never around when you need them. There main job is to raise money by giving tickets. There more worried about seat belts, cell phones and parking tickets. They show up after the fact. What is wrong with America. We protect every country in the world. We can not even protect each other.

Resturant Concealed Carry

Why can Dist. Att. and their staff carry concealed in rest. that serve alcohol and also drink with no training in firearme use and no concealed carry permit, when I have training in the use of firearms, a concealed carry permit and can't drink? Are they specialor something? Are the superior citizens or what makes them better than me?

you'd have to ask

little Timmy Kane that one. He's the one that signrd that. They, the prosecutors and the ass't prosecutors, don't even hae to have meet the same qualifications as we CCW permit holders do.
