A Virginia Beach native pleaded guilty Tuesday to a marijuana conspiracy charge, admitting that she had more than 200 pounds of the leafy drug in March.
Ashlee G. Bunn, 29, faces a mandatory minimum prison term of five years when she is sentenced on Sept. 13 in U.S. District Court.
A co-defendant, Antonio Allen Anderson, 28, of Newport News, who was arrested with Bunn on March 23, has also pleaded guilty and will be sentenced the same day.
Authorities said Bunn was linked to a Nashville, Tenn., drug ring that supplied one to two tons of marijuana to this region.
Bunn faces similar federal charges in Nashville, where authorities found 500 pounds of marijuana they say belonged to her and other drug dealers.
Bunn had been living in Nashville and working in the music industry there in recent years.
Virginia Beach police found Bunn with the marijuana during a traffic stop.

Legalization would not help 3rd world economies
That is a joke. We have plenty of land and resources of our own. You can nix that as a benefit.
True
But there are still niches in the market for 'imports'
Sure we will see the conglomerate vampires take over the 'industry' but in seeing that this is such a HUGE market, there will be room for other countries to help themselves in the process. While AB/MillerCoors run the beer market as a whole, imports and micros have taken some of their market share. Not to mention, MJ doesnt necessarily have to be grown for its Delta9 THC content - It can be grown as HEMP which has MANY (many many) industrial uses. (We have plenty of oil in this country too, but how much of it is imported?)
If you believe in one thing strongly enough...
then that's all you need. Obviously it created a forum of its own.

You can't mince my words, miscontruing them and then blast me. I said some people. You say I said everyone. Learn to read.
I like how 'our'pilot resets the comments..
When they do not want the truth to come out!! When the pilot did not like my comment supporting our police, the axed everyones comment!! All I said was to give a criminal 5yrs for trying to kill one of our officers(Det) and then give more for weed,I(guess YOUR Pilot) is supporting the Hood on these issues!! I am glad Mr Batten is not around to see or hear how YOU are running his paper.. I guess that is Carpet Baggers (Yankees) for you!! LOL @ UR p-let!!
Legalization would facilitate more occurences of DUI
That's the point I'm making. Some people commenting on here think and write probably while under the influence of drugs. I am honest with myself and the fact that I am clean, I am self-assured as well. No one else brought up a ramification of what could or would happen. It's all about the benefits with no thought of new problems created. It's not solving an issue without creating new ones. I see the points of benefit, but does our society need it? No, it's not necessary. It doesn't make one's life better off that they would have access to a new, legal drug soley for his or her recreation instead of for medicinal purposes for the purpose of improving one's life.
It is extremely ignorant and
It is extremely ignorant and prejudicial of you to assume that everyone on here that is pro legalization currently smokes or gets on here high and comments. As far as the rest of your "point"...you've repeatedly brought up the same point over and over again. ONE point. That one point is ALREADY addressed by current law. Now, as far as the benefits: there are many medical uses for marijuana, such as to ease suffering from ailments like Cancer and Aids, as well as the treatment of insomnia, or chronic aches and pains. Legalization would create a multi-billion dollar industry that can be taxed and would generate funds for improving current government programs and creating new government programs. New jobs would be created at several different levels of our economy, from government oversight and regulators to thousands of laborers, marketing firms, shipping and distribution companies, paper companies, packaging companies, retail businesses… the list goes on and on. The increased trade with marijuana producing nations would help to stabilize their struggling third world economies. This would also help to curve illegal immigration to the states from major marijuana producing na
nations like Mexico by
nations like Mexico by creating a new Mexican industry fresh with new jobs. Legalization would have an obvious impact on lessening the burden on our law enforcement agencies, judicial systems, and prison systems across the nation. In addition to its recreational uses, the marijuana plant can be used to make many products, from food to ship sails. The plant provides pulp to make paper, oil to make paints and varnishes, and a high-protein, high-carbohydrate seed that is used in granola and cereals. I could go on, but I only get so much space here, and I think I’ve made my point(s).
We are far better at growing
We are far better at growing marijuana than the Mexicans. So are the Canadians. We won't need them anymore. We will reduce crime from the smuggling in Mexico but we certainly will not be giving them more money, but less.
No problem, their president just lamented our drug use and it's affect on his people. Our weed will equal our money.
Those of you fighting legalization are fooling yourselves and harming your fellow man as a result. I would understand if keeping it illegal made it less available but it doesn't. At this point the law causes far more harm to society than the drug ever could have.
just be honest with yourself
In lieu of 'scientific' evidence which I am anyway not agreeing doesn't already exist, you have to know smoking marijuana does impair driving. It's my only gripe.
