Norfolk cutting some Town Point Saturday Market dates

NORFOLK

Instead of hosting an outdoor arts, antiques and apparel market most Saturdays at Town Point Park, Festevents is cutting the schedule back to four dates at the end of each month.

The Town Point Saturday Markets will be held from 10 to 3 p.m. on July 31, Aug. 28, Sept. 25 and Oct. 30 at the TowneBank Fountain Park section of the park instead of most Saturdays through October.

Varying vendors will offer items including jewelry, art, photography, antiques, green and Fair Trade items, clothing, pottery, candles, soaps and home decor.

Community groups and nonprofit organizations also will have kiosks at the events, and Omar's Fountain Café will sell food and beverages.

A news release sent Monday evening by Norfolk Festevents didn't give a reason for the abbreviated schedule.
