If you aren't man enough to

If you aren't man enough to stand-up for what is right, then you deserve the right to hide where you want. I bet you are the first to call to ban all guns.

The poll question

is misleading and inaccurate. The guns themselves, as inanimate objects, are not illegal. It is the act of possessing, brandishing and/or concealing a gun by person(s) that is illegal under certain circumstances, which can only be alleged by law enforcement and proven in Court.

To many problems

First, $100.00 isn't enough to pack up your family and move to another state, which is what you'd better do if you think about dropping a dime on someone that has a gun illegally.
Second, the police are going to be busy tracking down legal gun owners.
Third, people who a in possession of a firearm illegally aren't going to think twice about shooting a cop and running.
Lets just say I own several guns and my neighbor doesn't like me, so hoping for a easy hundred bucks they report me, the police come to my door and start asking questions. I refuse to let them in or answer their questions, I get arrested for obstruction of justice or some other lame charge. While I sitting in jail wondering how I going to raise bail the police toss my house and find no illegal weapons of any kind but, I'm still sitting in jail and that's always expensive.

what's the problem

You, 'refused to let them in or answere their questions'. I don't feel sorry for you.

Gertz' problem

Gertz, what in the world are you saying?
You seem to think that when the police come around, a citizen is OBLIGATED to allow them entry -- and presumably search as well.
Have you EVER read the Constitution? Have you ever even heard of the Magna Carta? Do you understand the concept of privacy?
Perhaps you just phrased your reply badly; though I often disagree with you, this still seems out of line even for you. Did you REALLY mean to imply that people deserve to be arrested and/or harassed if they refuse to allow police to enter and search their home without a warrant? If not, what DID you mean?

Re: Line crosser

I think you watch to much TV. Obstruction of Justice charge for refusing to let the police in your house or not talking to them. If you have legal guns then be proud of it, store them away from kids, take a safety course and get a CW permit if you can.

This is still the U.S....

Wow, someone needs to read the Constitution! You have an absolute right not to talk to the police about anything, and unless they have a warrant, you definitely don't have to let them in your house. Obstruction of justice can come from lying to the police, or giving them false information, but not from refusing to talk to them.

This is all the more reason to not talk to the police. If you talk to the police, your memory better be at 100%, because even if you don't intend to deceive them, it could come back to bite you if your memory is even just slightly rusty.

I wish the Chesapeake Police Success with this program

As a strong supporter of a person's Second Amendment rights, I support this program. I have always believed that gun buy backs were well intended but ineffective. This program focusses on the people in possession of a gun illegally instead of law abiding citizens. I wish them success in this endeavor.

Huh ?

So........an effort should be made to ADD guns on our streets?

baby daddy dont need no stinkin gun !
