Meet in the middle?
That is possible on some subjects but when one side believes abortion is murdering a child and the other side believes it is simply removing an offending growth, don’t hold your breath on that one.
McDonald almost had me fooled
I was beginning to think that McDonald might be able to separate religion and government the way Governor Kaine was able to do. I see I was wrong. He let Cucinelli do the dirty work for a while on issues like abortion, freedom of speech for scientists, climate change, air quality, and a bunch more I can't remember. McDonald has finally come out. He really is a Pat Robertson disciple.
Please everyone vote Democratic in the next elections. If you value your freedom to choose, freedom of speech, freedom of & from religion then you can risk voting for a Republican. Even the Tea party folks are not too happy with the Republican desire to control individual rights.
Richard 1949
I would love to vote demo but I am convinced they are weak on enforcement of our immigration laws and they are going to grant amnesty to illegals to pump up their base. I would love to vote Rep because they won't grant amnesty but they will do all they can to make a woman's right to choose almost impossible. This is going to be really hard - We are screwed either way. How we can get these two polar opposites to meet in the middle?
"meed in the middle"???
We will never get these 2 parties to meet in the middle as long as we have a party of NO.
As far as immigration laws..... wasn't it George W. who wanted amnesty for all illegals?
Who to vote for is always a difficult decision for those of us who think for ourselves and not vote political party. I cannt allow politicians and their religions didcate ANYTHING. I cannot sit back and allow any politician take away anyone's RIGHTS. Freedom of choice and the land of the free mean far to much for me to allow that to happen. I think back on the 8 years of George W., and I almost get sick. The republicans were in charge and our county became the most hated in the country....I can't allow that again.
oops!
That should be, "Meet in the middle".
Maybe he should ask Bristol Palin
to be the spokesperson. After all it worked for her!
mcd totally out of touch with reality
It is so obvious that our govnor is totally out of touch with reality who is being pushed by a religious zealot, and a looney AG.
Gees! VA can do so much better then these jerks in office.......how much longer do we have?
the man behind the curtain
Pat Robertson is the man behind the curtain, running the state from CBN. What Pat wants, Pat gets in the bible belt state of Virginia. Many state delegates and senators work for Pat and are under his payroll. This is not a joke and you can check it out for yourself if you don't believe it. Also, Taliban Bob McDonnell is an alumnus of Reject(Regent) Law School. Bob McDonnell is a conservative Roman Catholic with envangelical sympathies. This is what the majority of people voted for. There is no seperation of church and state in bible belt Virginia.
seems like our govnor
Seems like our govnor has been listening to our AG too much. Abstinence-only edeucation simply does no good, is a wast of time and doens't work.
Be honest with yourselves people, this is a very bad idea.
Abstinence only, please
Teenagers have been having unprotected sex since the dark ages, so this is not a new phenomenon. Abstinence only education has never worked, not even for the deeply religious! Too many millions of young people of all religions have been getting married forever with flowers strategically draped over the bride's belly and babies, miraculously born 8.5 months later. So it's absolutely pointless in the internet era to think pushing abstinence only would work. I believe that scientific facts, not religion and the esoteric idea of sex within the confines of a marriage only, is the way to teach teenagers sex-ed. Too many of them have never experienced the confines of family/marriage, so that means absolutely nothing to them. The science may gross them out just enough to keep them celibate til close in on alleged adulthood!
