windfarmville?
You know what's coming next...Wind Farmville on Facebook.
Another site
A secondary site would be downwind of the Va legislature. Then we would not only have a goodly amount of wind, but it would be pre-heated, too!
Less Cost
Yes, if it is going to cost us less to consume. I don't see developing anything if it is going to cost us the same as oil.
It could cost the same or more
And we would still be ahead, because every cent would stay in the USA instead of going to support people that hate our guts and want to destroy us. If we want to get independent of the Middle East and all their instability we need to double our electric generation capacity completely with renewable energy sources, like wind, wave/tidal, solar, geothermal and probably 2 or 3 more we haven't thought of yet.
What we need is some way of taking the heat from one part of the world, cooling that part, and then using it to warm/power the cooler parts of the world, and to do it in such a way as not to damage the parts in the middle. That would be taking solar power to the max.
what is the navy's comment on this including the hotel-radar
Issue? Once again, the News is out before the facts are in, typical local reporting.
The other article
"The Department of Defense has determined the planned convention center hotel won't block the homeland security radar at Oceana Naval Air Station, a concern that three years ago led to a 110-foot height restriction for the resort area.
Other tall buildings could also be built without harming the radar, according to a letter from Undersecretary of Defense Ashton B. Carter to Sen s. Mark Warner and Jim Webb."
Please enlighten me
Are the "thumbs down" entries because the articles were in the same issue of the VP, because the articles were no to someone's liking, or anautomatic response to bringing then to someone's attention. Just curious. (See below, also)
Please Re-read the article
Eliminating another stumbling block to such offshore development, the departments of Energy and Interior worked with the Defense Department to identify locations that wouldn't interfere with military operations and training, Salazar said.
