Secretary of Veterans Affairs to visit Norfolk today

NORFOLK

Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric K. Shineski will visit Norfolk today to talk about vocational training for veterans.

Shineski will visit Tidewater Tech Trades school at 5301 E. Princess Anne Road in the afternoon, according to a news release from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

He plans to discuss changes to the G.I. Bill after Sept. 11, 2001, that allow student veterans to enter the workforce with vocational skills.

In between the schmoozing and photo ops,

maybe he'll find time to dress in mufti, go over to the Hampton VA Hospital, pretend he's a vet off the street, and try to get an appointment.

That ought to be good for a few laughs.

Nothing like pre-announced visits by the pooh bahs to see how things are REALLY going, eh?
