Hello ....City Council why waste $74'000 of our tax dollars hiring a consulting firm to attract new business to Va.Beach then raid there stores and file criminal charges against the store manager. I don't even want to know what that fiasco cost us...remember us the ones who pay taxes....

The Disney cruise I went on was more risqué than anything I've ever seen in Va.Beach.... Can you get anymore family oriented than Disney????

ok im not as old as alot of people but lets see i am a college grad of 3 degrees in 5 years of college and what i see here just tweaks me a little bit cause the people that called about this poster prolly are the same type of people that dont pay any attention to what the kids are watching on tv and listening on the radio. With openly sex presentations on tv and the talking of sex on the radios its just commen that companys are going to eventaully use sex to sell there goods. Until you stand up and start talking about how tv and radio has been a bad influence you dont need to start on corporations. Basically these people should not throw rocks when they live in a glass house cause the truth comes out that in the long run they complain about something small but yet in the big picture they are unfit to even have an offspring cause people these days dont spend the time with there kids like my parents did

Well, there is Pat Robertson, and there are people who NEVER watch TV or been to a movie which shows worst. Perhaps they are the so called christian right, which we know is neither christian nor right. Take a good look at the young black boys walking around with their pants under their butt and you can see the crack right through their underware. Not being racist, just facing reality. To me they are far more obscene than than this poster. When I looked at the poster I saw innocence, it takes a special twisted mind to see anything else, but what do I know, I'm a Liberal, not a tight a-- Virginia Beach Republican. Isn't it great to see our tax dollars at work?

Let's see, you aren't happy when the police don't do anything and you aren't happy when they do something. You can't satisfy some people.
When a citizen calls in a complaint, an officer responds and takes action to try and resolve the complaint legally. Who gave the right for officers to make judgments? The people, the courts, and the laws do. Everyday with everything an officer does judgments are made. The law is on the books and officers take an oath to enforce that law. Don't like it, get the law changed. That is your responsibility as a citizen, to stand up and change things you don't like. Do I think those adds rise to a level where action was needed? No. Was it my call to make? No. Will it probably get dismissed in court? Yes. I've seen much worse adds at the oceanfront taken to court and they were thrown out. And those adds were definitely obscene.... Why do I hate this area so much? Because people always want the law enforced as long as it is on someone else....

What bothers me in cases like this is that it was most likely ONE person who felt offended by this poster. So ONE narrow-minded buffoon screams porn and the posters are removed. No due process, no open discussion among the citizenry about whether or not the ads have merit. Just rip em out. Typical of our nanny state where the overwhelming desire to never offend ONE individual results in asinine laws like this. If our country's current state of mind existed during the renaissance, we wouldn't have half the beautiful works of art the great masters created. Man, I can't wait til the pendulum starts swinging back on an arc of reason. Since God created Adam & Eve in the buff, is he obscene too?

All the little things when considered as a whole indicate one thing; this country is, sadly, finished.

For years the coppertone ads filled the roads, where either a young girl or a beautiful woman displayed her tanned skin with a pulled down bikini. The various ads showing a female in the barest of outfits in the mall, from victoria's secret to harley Davidson display volumptious females in all manner of undress. Yet, the display that shows men, or young men in the same situation is considered obscene. This is a classic case of homophobia and sexism and in this country is appalling and disgraceful. I hope the courts in this country own up to the obvious unconstitutionality of their actions and the city is fined for blatant misuse of power. Unless, they are willing to impose the same rules on all stores. Good bye sexy bra models or those st. paulie girls displays this town is about to attack you too.

I grew up in Virginia and moved away years ago. Until now, I would never have considered vacationing in Virginia Beach. However, I am reconsidering specifically because of the City's action against A&F. Virginia Beach sounds like a place that I can bring my kids, and tourist dollars.
