Not only is it a poor use of funds, it only makes me angrier. We pay Va Beach taxes to use public areas and services. Therefore, the City Council should consider us first vice the touristas who only indirectly support these areas and services.

It is pretty well known that you attach the word "tourist" to anything and Virginia Beach is going to spend money on it no matter how the citizens feel about it. It is obvious by the poll here that it is not favored but do you think Myra and company are going to take notice. I really doubt it.

There should be a poll nationwide of what city finds the most amazing ways of wasting the taxpayers' money. This one should top right up there I would think. It's pretty bad when a city decides it has to spend $150,000 of the taxpayers' money to try and convince them that it is spending money correctly . . .

Wow, even with the pro-Oceanfront lobby more than likely contacting all of their "friends" to convince them to vote "YES" - over 80% of those that voted rejected this misuse of precious tax funds!
