All prices the same in my area
as i drove around i noticed that all the stations in my area, about 10, had the same price displayed. the station that is usually much higher priced than the rest, yes, miller mart, had the same price. what's up with that? is the fix in?
Colbert Report
If you watch Comedy Central (John Stewart, Colbert Report) to get your political news, what year of high school are you in?
Its gotta be at least the tenth grade, right....
$3.39 per gallon
I'm still on my tank of gas I paid $3.39 per gallon for last Friday. So the higher prices didn't effect me. Now with the price of gasoline on the commodity markets going sharply down for the third straight day, I expect the prices to come crashing down before I need to fill up again. I hope.
Price differences
For the life of me I can not understand the great differences in gas prices I have been reading about. Here in Accomack Cty. it has been fluctuating betwen $3.43 and 3.49 for a couple of weeks. Why is it so much higher for you all in Hampton Roads? When my husband used to work in VA Beach it was the opposite, he paid less there than here at home.
Record Profits
There seems to be something WRONG when the Major Oil Companies are raking in record profits in this alledged 'gas shortage'.
The Colbert Report has a humorous view of the mentality of the decision making process of predicting 'oil futures'............
.............wish i could remember it.............
lets not forget
Dick Cheney told the oil companies to write our energy policy. Shameful!
The major oil companies have
The major oil companies have always supported Republicans and have been handsomely rewarded for their support. Where does this flow of big time dollars come from? Just watch those digits on the gas pump moving so fast you can't see 'em!
Yea, it was pretty clever too. It all started when they were watching Superman III and decided that was a great idea. They used the super secret weather satellite to conjure up a hurricane and ram it into a major refining area just to make you may a couple extra dollars to drive your car. Brilliant!
Warner The Only Choice
I read with absolute amusement the opinion of Linda Kepley that somehow Jim Gilmore is more experienced than Mark Warner in regard to foreign policy. All I have to say is, "It's about the economy stupid"! Has anyone forgot what shape Jim Gilmore left the Commonwealth of Virginia in when Mark Warner was sworn in? We were in a record budget shortfall because of his election ploy of "No Car Tax". Wasn't long till everyone realized where all of that tax money was destined to be used for and we have suffered for it ever since. Look at the condition of our bridges, roads, tunnels and other infrastructure. Mark Warner took a fiscally wrecked economy left courtesy the Gilmore administration and turned it around in four short years. The Commonwealth was even recognized as one of the best run states in the United States with a significant budget surplus at the time. Mark Warner's economic record along should assure a landslide victory over a career politician on his last leg. Even the Republican Party realizes Gilmore's election to the U.S. Senate a long shot. Warner is the only choice.
My name is not Money Warbucks!
Unfortunately, I do not have money to burn. So any spike in the gas prices is a spike in our household.
Thank you for your support

Not at all
Not at all since I'll probably have to fill up once before it falls to the sub-$3 prices trading in futures right now. I know it's hard to visualize the dynamics of millions of buyers and sellers dealing at the same time but the conspiracy thing is just laughably simple minded.
sorry
Nut I can't blame the news media for this one. Think greed!
Will hurt very badly?
What has changed in the past 4 or 5 weeks? The prices are almost back to where they were then.
How can you "be hurt very badly" by current gasoline prices (barring and life-changing events, recently)?
Gas Prices Going Up??
Thank the media for that boost in income to the gas stations. They used to only do it for the grocery stores.
Gas Prices
Why is it when the news media play up that there is gas prices going up because of the storms or whatever - before the ink is even dry - you begin to see the prices jump - no matter if warranted yet or not - I think alot of this is greed - and grabbing from the public while the iron is hot -
I think inspectors should check the books of every gas station owner and see if it is warranted when the jump comes as quickly as it did this time. The next thing you know there will be a big surplus of profit by Exxon, BP or some of the other BIG DOGS.
how about we stop exporting
how about we stop exporting oil and keep it here, would boost our ecomomy instead of russia and the middle east...
Hurt by gas prices?
Being an ORIGINAL native of Cape Hatteras,
We have always endured an average of 20+
cents per Gal.higher prices than up north
(Nags Head).
Price gouging down here is a way of life,so
any increases is taken with a grain of salt .
I use oil for heating (hot water baseboard)
and gas prices has made my fuel oil to
average at about $4.80/gal!
Transportation of any necessities are
0ver 25% higher here than further north
because of gas used for transportation..
